Malaysia Maintains Good Relations With All Countries.

IPOH, 31 January 2025 – Malaysia adopts an approach to establish good relations with all countries without siding with any party or superpower.
Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim said this at the Perak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) Chinese New Year Open House at the Weil Hotel here.
"Starting next week, we will receive visits from world leaders until we have to schedule them so that there are not too many at one time. We will receive the President of Indonesia.
"Two days later, Dr. Thaksin Shinawatra, former Prime Minister of Thailand, whom I asked to be an advisor to my team as ASEAN Chairman.
"After that, a visit from the President of Uzbekistan if I am not mistaken, and then the President of Turkiye will come to Malaysia in February.
"Because, we need friends now. In the past, we sided here and there, now we continue to seek investments from the United States. We are improving our relationship with the European Union, the BRICS group comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa as well as several other countries.
"For us, whoever comes to invest, including China, we encourage them. Those who are good to us, we are better to them.
"This is our policy and that's why I want to emphasise during the Chinese New Year celebration, we will continue our programme to open our network," he said.
Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad; Higher Education Minister Dato' Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir; Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming; Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang; State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid; State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim; State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin; State Exco Members and PCCCI President Dato' Liew Chee Ming.
After that, Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim accompanied by Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, Senator Dato' Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir, Dato' Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid and Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim performed Friday prayers with the congregation during the Community Feast at Masjid Al-Muttaqin, Taman Meru here.
Later, he inspected the Kinta Barat Sewerage Project, Papan in Lengkok Sri Cempaka, Taman Cempaka.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister Dato' Sri Fadillah Yusof, Energy Transition and Public Utility Ministry Secretary-General Dato' Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli, Sewerage Services Department (JPP) Director-General Ir. Ts. Wan Abd Rahim Wan Abdullah, and Kinta District Officer Zulhisham Ahmad Shukori.
According to Dato' Sri Fadillah Yusof, the RM2.02 billion project includes the construction of an 88-kilometre network of modern sewerage pipe network, replacing nine new pump stations, and the closure of 149 old and inefficient sewage treatment plants.
He added that the project consists of three development packages, and two of them have been completed.
Meanwhile, the third package is 88 percent complete. It will be fully completed after some land issues are resolved.
The project will benefit more than 250,000 residents and accommodate up to 500,000 residents by 2045.
