IPOH, 23 May 2025 – The commitment of HRH Sultan of Perak’s Office staff in upholding service excellence and preserving the sovereignty of the state was celebrated at the Excellent Service Award (APC) 2024 Ceremony at the Royal Perak Golf Club (RPGC).
The event was an important platform to honour outstanding performance and loyalty of staff who have played a crucial role in supporting the governance of the organisation and ensuring that this institution remains strong as part of the state governance structure.
The award presentation was officiated by Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen (Rtd) Dato' Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin to 17 Excellent Service Award recipients and four retirees.
The event also celebrated former Dato' Pengelola Bijaya Diraja Toh Raja Diraja Colonel (Rtd) Dato' Abdul Rahim Mohamad Nor, and Toh Maharaja Dewa Dato’ Mohd Rasid Hussin Shah, who will officially end their service; however, their contributions and services will always be remembered and appreciated.
General (Rtd) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin also presented the Dato' Pengelola Bijaya Diraja Special Award to Normah Mokhtar.
This award was introduced for the first time this year to give prestigious recognition to staff who have shown outstanding performance and contributed significantly to the Office of HRH Sultan of Perak.
In his speech, Gen (Rtd) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin emphasised that the duties of staff at the Office of HRH Sultan of Perak are not merely administrative but carry a much greater responsibility.
"We do not just carry out daily tasks. We bear an important trust – to ensure that this institution continues to be respected, to uphold the inherited traditions, and at the same time safeguarding the sovereignty of a sovereign state," he said.
He emphasised that the strength of this organisation lies in core values, such as loyalty, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility towards the state and institution.
"Loyalty to this organisation and institution is an invaluable quality. It is the source of stability and strength for all of us," he stated.
He further added that employees must constantly challenge themselves, be open to change, and avoid getting trapped in their comfort zone to continue progressing and remain relevant.
"A comfort zone can provide peace, but it can also limit our potential. If we want to advance, we must be brave to try new things and step outside of the ordinary."
"We all play a role in supporting the institution that symbolises the sovereignty of the state. This trust must continue to be upheld with full integrity and commitment," he elaborated.
Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Financial Officer Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, Kinta Territorial Chief Dato’ Abdul Wahab Azizul Hassan, and HRH Sultan of Perak’s Principal Private Secretary Brigadier General Norzahari Efandy Zakaria.
