Loh Sze Yee, Mohd Zairasyahli Shah Zakaria and Kumaresan A/L Lingam accompanying HE Marta Laura Gabrieloni

IPOH, 24 November 2025 – Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad today received a courtesy visit from HE Marta Laura Gabrieloni, Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to Malaysia, during an official meeting at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

Also present were State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee Chairman Loh Sze Yee, Local Government Division Secretary Mohd Zairasyahli Shah Zakaria and State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) Deputy Sectoral Director I Kumaresan A/L Lingam.

Argentina is the third-largest economic power in Latin America, with expertise in the agriculture, livestock, energy, lithium mining, automotive industry and biotechnology sectors.

The country is currently exploring strategic locations for market expansion in the ASEAN region, thus opening up new potential cooperation opportunities with Perak.

During the meeting, both parties discussed opportunities for strategic cooperation in the economic and investment sectors, particularly in meat exports, halal product processing, and mining, which are believed to bring great benefits to both countries.

Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad also promoted the uniqueness of Perak’s tourism industry and its iconic destinations, which can attract tourists from Argentina and strengthen international tourism networks.

The Perak State Government hopes that this bilateral relationship will continue to be strengthened and open up new cooperation opportunities as a catalyst for future progress.
