Integrity Is The Core Of Administrative Responsibility And State Wellbeing – Perak Menteri Besar : 26 January 2026.

Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad stresses that the Perak State Government has placed integrity and good governance as the main pillars of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan

IPOH, 26 January 2026 – Integrity is the main determinant of the credibility of an administration in today’s landscape, which increasingly demands consistency, accountability, and responsibility from leaders and public institutions.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad said this when officiating the State Level Perak Sejahtera Integrity and Anti-Corruption Convention 2026 and the Launch of the Keep Malaysia Clean (KMC) Programme at Dewan Bankuet, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

“In today’s world, trust is no longer given automatically. It is assessed, observed and tested. It is not assessed through slogans, but through the behaviour of systems and daily actions. Therefore, integrity is no longer a peripheral issue. It is the true measure of the credibility of administration and leadership.

“In fact, in my message during the Executive Discourse 2026 before civil servants last week, I also emphasised that integrity and transparency must be the absolute standard of administration, as they are the frontline of defence in public service,” he explained.

Commenting on leadership with integrity, Dato’ Seri Saarani said the people of Perak are very grateful to be under the reign of HRH Sultan of Perak, who always emphasises the importance of integrity as the foundation of national wellbeing and the strength of civilisation.

According to him, His Royal Highness’s speech during the National Integrity Month Celebration on 5 November should be used as guidance for the entire administrative machinery.

“His Royal Highness’s reminder is highly significant because history often teaches us that the downfall of an institution or civilisation rarely begins with external threats. Instead, it often stems from a betrayal of trust from within, when integrity is eroded little by little without being realised,” he said.

He further stressed that the socio-economic development of a state should not be measured solely through Gross Domestic Product (GDP) figures or impressive physical development, instead integrity is the soul of sustainable and inclusive progress.

“Investors will only come when they are confident that our administrative system is fair, transparent and capable of protecting the interests of all parties. The people will only believe when they see assistance reaching those who deserve it and opportunities given based on merit, not connections or influence,” he added.

Dato’ Seri Saarani stressed that the Perak State Government has placed integrity and good governance as the main pillars of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan.

“I want to see cooperation with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) strengthened, implementation of Organisational Anti-Corruption Strategies streamlined, digitalisation, accelerated services and procurement processes demanded to be more transparent and accountable,” he said.

Also present were State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato’ Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, MACC Perak Director Dato' TPj Ahmad Sabri Mohamed, Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah, MB Inc. Perak CEO Dato’ Anuar Zainal Abidin, Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk) CEO Datuk Redza Rafiq Abdul Razak and Integrity Unit Head Nurul Faiz Khairol Azmi.
