The Perak Menteri Besar leading the state delegation in a courtesy visit on the Melaka Chief Minister

MELAKA, 6 February 2026 - Perak Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad led the Perak State Government delegation in a courtesy visit on Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Utama Ab Rauf Yusoh at Kompleks Seri Negeri, Ayer Keroh.

The visit was the highlight of the third day of Perak Sejahtera 2030: State Leadership Retreat 2026 (SLR 2026), opening a space for exchanging views on high-impact state development approaches, particularly in tourism, creative economy, digitalisation and implementation of smart city initiatives.

During the meeting, both parties shared best practices and administrative experiences, including Melaka’s strategies in leveraging technology to improve efficiency of public service delivery and integrated urban management.

Earlier, the Perak delegation received a briefing and visited the Melaka State Command Centre to observe the operations of the integrated digital control centre, which functions as a platform for security monitoring, smart city management and strategic information coordination for the Melaka Government.

The delegation also visited the Melaka State Legislative Assembly as part of the working visit, providing exposure to legislative administration and management of the state’s democratic institutions.

Also present were Perak State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, Melaka State Secretary Datuk Wira Azhar Arshad, Perak State Legal Advisor Dato’ Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, Perak State Financial Officer Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyudin and Members of the Perak and Melaka State Executive Councils.

The visit is in line with Perak’s digital transformation agenda under the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan, particularly in efforts to strengthen the use of data and smart technology to improve governance effectiveness and the wellbeing of the people.

The three-day SLR 2026 programme, which started on 4 February, brought together the state’s top leadership, heads of departments, agencies, statutory bodies and government-linked companies to plan the direction of the second term of the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan.
