Arrival of HRH Sultan of Perak

IPOH, 29 January 2026 – HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah graced the Closing and Prize Presentation Ceremony of the Perak Quran Recitation and Memorisation Competition 1447H/2026M at the Casuarina Meru Convention Centre here.

Also gracing the event were HH Raja Muda Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, HH Raja Kecil Sulong Perak, Raja Dato’ Seri Ahmad Nazim Azlan Shah Raja Ashman Shah and HH Raja Kecil Tengah Perak, Raja Dato’ Seri Iskandar Raja Ziran @ Raja Zaid.

Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen. (Rtd) Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd. Zahidi Zainuddin and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri DiRaja Puan Sri Hajah Rasiah Md. Nor and State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim and wife Datin Che Fauziah Ahmad.

State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members, Perak Territorial Chiefs, Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) President Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Annuar  Zaini,  Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) Director Dato' Harith Fadzilah Abdul Halim and heads of state and federal departments were also in attendance.

At the ceremony, Hasnul Taqiyuddin Cik Sazali and Puteri Kalimatul Azzua Hamid were crowned champions of the Perak State Level Quran Recitation 1447H/2026M. Both the qari and qariah received cash RM12,000, an umrah package worth RM10,000 and a plaque of appreciation.

Meanwhile, the runner-up and third-place qari positions went to Kamaruzan Daud and Mohamad Sahran Termizi. In the qariah category, Nurul Syafiqah Nardi and Siti Syahirah Isa were the runner-up and third place respectively.  The runner-up received cash RM9,000, while the third-place received RM7,000, along with a plaque.

For the memorisation category (1-30 juzuk), the champions were Muhammad Ammar Daniel Ahmad Sukry (male) and Siti Sarah Muhammad Hanif (female). Each received cash RM12,000, an umrah package worth RM10,000 and a plaque.

For the memorisation category (1-20 juzuk), the champions were Muhammad Firdaus Muhd Danial (male) and Nur Nabila Syafiqah Mus Irwan (female), each receiving cash RM7,000 and a certificate of appreciation.

The best qari and qariah will represent Perak at the National Level Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly (MTHQK), from 13 to 18 April 2026 at the Terengganu Sports Complex Indoor Stadium.
