KAMPAR, 11 April 2026 – The Public Service Department (JPA) continues to strengthen its role as a driver of the people’s wellbeing via the implementation of the MADANI Adopted Village and School Programme in Kampung Kota Bharu here today.
The programme was officiated by Public Service Director-General (KPPA) Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz with the attendance of about 600 guests, comprising local residents, school staff and strategic partners from various government agencies.
Now in its third year of implementation since 2024, it is the government’s proactive approach to ensuring that policies formulated at the central level are effectively translated on the ground, especially in bridging the development gap between urban and rural areas in an inclusive manner.
A total of RM600,000 has been allocated for the programme, involving RM500,000 under the MADANI Adopted Village (KAM) component and RM100,000 for the MADANI Adopted School (SAM).
Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan explained that the allocation under KAM will be utilised to implement eight high-impact physical projects that directly benefit the daily lives of residents.
“Through the MADANI Adopted Village Programme 2026, the Government has approved an allocation of RM500,000 specifically for this village. We want residents to see tangible changes through the implementation of eight physical projects that directly benefit the community,” he said in his speech at the launch ceremony.
He added that among the projects to be implemented are the upgrading and repair of the community hall and mosque to enhance comfort of the residents for gatherings and worship.
In addition, the projects also involve upgrading the police station and installing solar lights in dark alleyways to improve public safety and security.
According to him, healthcare facilities are also given attention through upgrading of the existing health clinic to be more conducive for senior citizens and children, besides upgrading the multi-purpose court to provide better recreational facilities for the youth.
“Additionally, the construction of a village landmark and the upgrading of the SK Kota Bharu pavilion will be implemented as symbols of the local educational progress and community identity,” he said.
Meanwhile, he said the MADANI Adopted School component focuses on efforts to strengthen education through upgrading science laboratories, Design and Technology (RBT) workshops and the provision of computers to support 21st-century learning.
He stressed that the programme reflects the public service’s continuous commitment in ensuring that every government policy is not only planned but implemented effectively and felt at the grassroots level.
This was followed by the Ziarah Cakna Sentuhan Kasih Programme to reach out to government retirees in the village.
The visit programme involved four retirees in need of support, including assistance with basic necessities and mobility equipment such as wheelchairs, as well as other welfare assistance as a token of appreciation for their services and sacrifices to the public service.
