IPOH, 2 June 2021: Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad and 10 State Executive Council Members have agreed to donate their salaries for three months to the COVID-19 Disaster Fund.

Dato' Saarani said the decision was made after the State Executive Council Meeting today.

“This contribution involves the Perak Menteri Besar and has been agreed by the other 10 Exco members to contribute to the COVID-19 Disaster Fund.

"Meanwhile, the Perak State Secretary, State Legal Adviser and State Financial Officer will follow suit as decided for government employees as announced by the government previously," he said when announcing the Perak Sejahtera Economic Stimulus Package (PRE) 2021 at the Menteri Besar’s Office, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

The Perak Sejahtera Economic Stimulus Package 2021, involving an expenditure of RM19.5 million, is a state government initiative comprising various sectors to face the impact of the closure of the social and economic sectors or MCO 3.0 which was implemented from 1 June.

"The PRE is the main focus of the state government in ensuring the livelihood of the affected people, especially the B-40 group, homeless, hawkers and petty traders, youths, farmers and tourism operators," he said.
