IPOH, 4 July 2021 – Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad announced that Perak is scheduled to receive 688,000 doses of vaccine this month, with the first 147,000 doses expected to arrive next week.
“If the vaccines arrive as scheduled, the state is expected to record an inoculation rate of between 25,000 to 30,000 daily. That rate is achievable as Perak now has 101 Vaccine Centres (PPVs), comprising 31 public and government hospital PPVs as well as 70 private clinic and hospital PPVs,” he told reporters.
He added that Perak had recorded 14,402 daily jabs on 30 June, climbing to 15,918 on 1 July and continued to increase to 19,341 on 2 July. This momentum was driven by the implementation of various initiatives, including community outreach programmes which have been conducted aggressively since 11 May.
He made the announcement during a visit to the Kampung Chadak Orang Asli Village Vaccination Programme. A total of 100 vaccine doses were given to the Orang Asli here.
Meanwhile, 120 Orang Asli houses in Kampung Tonggang and Kampung Sungai Suluh received aid in conjunction with the dry and wet foodstuffs distribution programme.
