IPOH, 5 February 2022 - The Perak State Government will consider a proposal to place Perak Man Art Trail artwork and Salleh Ismail Solo Exhibition in a special gallery here.

Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Saarani Mohamad said the artwork that highlights the area in the Lenggong Valley in particular and Perak in general can be a valuable treasure for the state.

“We have a gallery behind the Ipoh City Council and I will reconsider as previously we had a collaboration with the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) where they have redeveloped Ipoh Padang and Tun Razak Library which are nearby.

"So, if NCIA can work together in upgrading the gallery to house all these art treasures, that's great and we will do it," he said.

He said this in a press conference after officiating the Visual Arts Exhibition 'Perak Man Art Trail and Solo Salleh Ismail Exhibition' at Hotel Casuarina@Meru here.

Also present were Perak Painters Association President Datuk Dr Ahmad Lothfi Ibrahim, Salleh Ismail and the artists involved in the Perak Man Art Trail.

According to Dato' Seri Saarani, the translation of historical locations in the form of artwork could attract more visitors to Perak.

"I will ask the State Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee Chairman Dato 'Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi to conduct further discussions so that we can keep this artwork as a state treasure for future generations to admire.

"Well done and congratulations to every agency that cooperated, including Tourism Perak, National Art Gallery and Perak Museum Board," he added.

Meanwhile, the Perak Man Art Trail Exhibition gathered a total of 30 local artists, including A Malik Zainal Abidin, Roslinda Wahab, Aris Aziz, Raduan Norudin, Oh Chow Moy and Raja Shahriman.

Ismail Salleh's Solo Exhibition depicts the artistic journey of a Lenggong-born boy for almost half a decade, and then presented 50 in paintings.
