HRH Sultan of Perak gracing the Presentation Ceremony of Appointment Letters to MAIPk Members, Perak Syariah Court Judges and Zakat Handover Ceremony.

IPOH, 12 January 2024 – HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin graced the Presentation Ceremony of Appointment Letters to Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) Members 2024-2025, Perak Syariah Court Judges and Zakat Handover Ceremony.

At the ceremony, the Sultan presented the instrument of appointment to Tan Sri Dato' Seri Mohd Annuar Zaini who has been appointed as MAIPk President for the 2024-2025 term.

Sultan Nazrin also presented appointment letters to 27 more MAIPk members, including Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad as Perak Islamic Religious Committee Chairman, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin and Perak Mufti Dato' Seri Wan Zahidi Wan Teh.

Seven members from the previous term were reappointed and 13 new members appointed for the 2024-2025 term.

Among the new MAIPk members were State Education Director Dato' Mohamad Fauzi Mahson, State Environment Department Director Dato' Dr. Mohammad Ezanni Mat Salleh, State Agriculture Department Director Norsiyenti Othman, State Youth and Sports Department Director Nor Azah Ahmad Dahalan, Perak Foundation General Manager Dr. Nasreen Khanum Nawab Zadah Khan and State Youth Council President Muhammad Puhaz Salleh.

Meanwhile, the Perak Syariah Court Judge Appointment Letters were presented to State Syariah High Court Chief Judge Dato' Mohd Amran Mat Zain, and State Syariah Appeal Court Judges Mohamad Taifor Ahmad Rusdi, Dato' Abd Aziz Mohd Yusof and Datuk Kamardin Hashim. 

The appointment letters were also presented to the other State Syariah Appeal Court judges, namely Datuk Mohd Radzi Abd Latif, Dato' Mohamad Shakir Abdul Hamid, Nor Hadina Ahmad Zabidi and Dato' Abas Nordin. 

At the same event, His Royal Highness also handed over business zakat and waqf from 10 corporate companies and individuals to MAIPk amounting to RM7,697,167.71 and cash waqf of RM100,000 for 2023. 

Among the companies that handed over business zakat were Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) with RM573,109.20, Boustead Plantations Berhad (RM297,626), Koperasi Anggota Kerajaan Ipoh Berhad (RM202,645.05), Perak Agriculture Development Corporation (RM2,105,854.45), Perbadanan Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Perak (RM500,000, National Higher Education Fund Corporation (RM100,000), PLUS Malaysia Berhad (RM500,000), UDA Holdings Sdn Bhd (RM254,283), Zaman Motors Sdn Bhd (RM124,710) and Bukit Gantang Member of Parliament Dato' Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abu Fasal (RM2,958,880).
