HRH Sultan Of Perak Graces Opening Of Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital’s Women, Children And Cardiology Complex.

IPOH, 6 February 2024 – HRH Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah and HRH Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim graced the Opening of the Women, Children and Cardiology Complex (KWKK) of the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) this morning.
Accompanying Their Royal Highnesses were HH Raja Muda Perak Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa, HH Raja Puan Besar Perak Raja Nazhatul Shima Idris Shah and HH Raja DiHilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Idris Shah.
Also present were Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad and wife Datin Seri Aezer Zubin, Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen. Dato' Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin (Rtd) and wife Toh Puan Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Hajah Rasiah Md. Nor, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad, Perak State Assembly Speaker Dato' Mohamad Zahir Abdul Khalid, State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, State Exco Members, Health Ministry Secretary-General Dato' Seri Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang, Perak Health Department Director Dr. Sirajuddin Hashim and HRPB Director Dato' Dr. Megat Iskandar Megat Abdul Hamid.
Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly said KWKK, which has been operating since December 2019, was built at a cost of RM237 million on an area of 14,671 square meters under the 10th Malaysia Plan allocation.
"By having KWKK, HRPB is one of the three largest hospitals in Malaysia after Kuala Lumpur Hospital and Penang Hospital with a capacity of 1,394 beds, 22 operating theatres, 33 adult intensive care unit beds, 10 cardiac care unit beds, 12 pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) beds and 24 neonatal care unit beds.
"The 10-storey complex has 404 beds and 304 parking lots for staff and visitors," he said.
He added that the Ministry of Health also approved an allocation for the procurement of new beds totalling RM1.2 million for 250 sets of beds.
At the end of the ceremony, Sultan Nazrin also visited the exhibition held specifically by the Cardiology Department, Pediatrics Department and Obstetrics and Gynecology Department before departing.
