IPOH, 18 June 2024 - The Perak State Government always takes proactive steps to strengthen the skills and abilities of officers towards achieving an efficient and highly competitive public service system by holding the State Training Prize (HLN) Programme 2024.

The implementation of the programme will take place in three countries: Jogjakarta, Indonesia; Melbourne, Australia; and the United Kingdom, where the selected officials will indirectly be the little ambassadors of the Perak state government in fostering cooperation with educational institutions and international organisations.

This year, a total of 52 officers have been selected to follow the programme with the implementation divided into four, i.e., Dynamic Leadership Programme: Driving Excellence in Service (Specifically for Supervisory Officers) for Grades 22 to 28 and Grades 29 to 40; Strategic and High-Impact Leaders Programme for Grades 41 to 44; and Senior Leadership Programme for Senior Public Sector Officers "Leading with Impact 2.0" for Grades 48 to 54 officers.

State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim said this programme, held for the first time for executive grades, will send 30 people to Jogjakarta to observe administrative management practices there, which serve as an example for other countries.

"To those selected, I hope that you will maintain good manners and conduct while you are there, as you represent the image of Perak and are still subject to the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations 1993.

"Similarly, for those going to Australia and the United Kingdom, I have high hopes that they can use this platform as a network with other countries, as we are now moving towards attracting investments into Perak," he said.He said this when speaking at the Meeting with State Secretary on the State Training Prize Programme 2024 at the Perak State Secretariat Multi-Purpose Hall here.

Also present were the Human Resource Management Division Secretary, District Officers and Local Authority Presidents.

The HLN Programme is a major investment from the Perak Government in translating the organisation's commitment to the professional development of civil servants by providing opportunities for self-development, enhancing motivation, encouraging more open and innovative thinking to face challenges and job satisfaction.

Hopefully, the involvement of officers for such overseas programmes will not only further enhance their skills in their respective fields, but also these selected officers can adapt their experiences from the engagement sessions and visits conducted throughout the programme.
