HRH Sultan of Perak gracing the USAS 17th Convocation Ceremony.

KUALA KANGSAR, 23 November 2024 -HRH Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah graced the Universiti Sultan Azlan Shah (USAS) 17th Convocation Ceremony at Dewan Jubilee here.

On arrival, His Royal Highness was accompanied by Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad, USAS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dato' Dr. Wan Sabri Wan Yusof and USAS Berhad Board of Directors Chairman Prof. Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali.

Also present were Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja Gen. (Rtd) Dato' Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd. Zahidi Zainuddin, USAS Pro-Chancellor Tan Sri Prof. Dato' Dr. Nordin Kardi, State Exco Members, USAS Berhad Board of Directors, USAS Board Members, Perak Territorial Chiefs and heads of departments.

At the ceremony, the Sultan, who is also USAS Chancellor, presented the Doctor of Philosophy, Master's Degrees and Bachelor's Degrees from the Faculty of Management and Information Technology (FPTM), as well as the Doctor of Philosophy, Master's Degrees, Bachelor's Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas from the Faculty of Islamic Studies and Social Sciences (FPISS) to the graduates.

Sultan Nazrin also presented five academic excellence awards, namely the Tuanku Chancellor Award to Siti Nurzulaikha Zulkifli, Menteri Besar Award to Nur Masitah Awang Kecil, USAS Vice-Chancellor Award to Humaira Mohd Hussin, FPTM Best Student Award to Shahirah Shamsudin and Nor Aquilla Annisya Nor Azmi, and FPISS Best Student Award to Sakinah Dhaniah Mohamad Tarmizi and Nur Zulaikha Zulkipli.

Earlier in his speech, Prof. Dato' Dr. Wan Sabri said the ceremony on 23 and 24 November would award degrees and diplomas to 1,798 graduates.

"This consists of seven Doctor of Philosophy degrees, 36 master's degrees, 14 postgraduate diplomas, 768 bachelor's degrees and 973 diplomas.

"Also, USAS celebrates its Silver Jubilee this year, marking 25 years filled with challenges, successes and transformation; and to date USAS has succeeded in producing a total of 14,045 graduates since its first convocation in 2002," he said.
