IPOH, 16 December 2024 – Yayasan Perak celebrated excellence since its inception in 1979 and appreciated the collaboration of government-linked companies (GLCs), departments, agencies, and joint venture companies for over four decades during the YP Gala Dinner 2024 at Pusat Konvensyen Casuarina in Meru.

"Tonight, we gather not only to celebrate the excellence of Yayasan Perak staff, but also to express our appreciation to the agencies and departments that have been strategic partners in realising the state's development agenda.

"We cannot discuss today's success without reflecting on the foundation of Yayasan Perak's establishment in 1979.

"With a clear mission to provide educational opportunities for the underprivileged, this foundation has become a key driver in empowering the youths of Perak," said Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad when officiating the ceremony.

Yayasan Perak General Manager Dr. Nasreen Khanum Nawab Khan said Yayasan Perak's aspiration is to fulfil the initiative agenda of eradicating poverty among low-income families and assisting the B40 group.

"In the education system, the Hijrah Insaniah Programme, YP Smart Target SPM (for Straight A+ Students), YP Eye Sinar (Eye Glasses Assistance), and YP Didik Smart SPM Supplementary Book Assistance are among the new programmes created to help B40 students," she said.

She added that tonight's event is also a manifestation of a significant rebranding of the organisation in transforming the roles and functions of Yayasan Perak to be more efficient and relevant.

Also present were State Legal Adviser Dato' Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato' Mohd Zaki Mahyudin and State Women, Family, Social Welfare and Entrepreneur Development Committee Chairman Dato' Salbiah Mohamed.

At the ceremony, Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad also presented the Excellent Service Award (APC) to 5 recipients for 2023 and 5 recipients for 2024, a long service gift to Rosmimi Jamalani, an administrative assistant who has served for 25 years, and launched Yayasan Perak's official song "Bangkit Bersama".
