The Perak State Government continues the annual Aidiladha tradition by distributing 436 sacrificial cows to 59 State Constituencies.

IPOH, 22 May 2025 – The Perak State Government continues the annual Aidiladha tradition by distributing 436 sacrificial cows to 59 State Constituencies (DUN) in conjunction with the Aidiladha 1446H celebration, which is expected to be on 7 June 2025.

According to a statement posted on his official Facebook page, Perak Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Saarani Mohamad said the contribution was the result of the commitment and corporate social responsibility (CSR) of government-linked companies GLCs), particularly the Perak State Agricultural Development Corporation (SADC), Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc.), Perak State Development Corporation (PKNPk), Perak Water Board (LAP) and State Secretary Incorporated (SSI).

“To ensure fair and comprehensive distribution to the community, every state constituency will receive at least six sacrificial cows. This distribution will also involve mosques and suraus, security forces, associations, and selected non-governmental organizations (NGOs) throughout the state.

“As in previous years, the implementation of ibadah korban will involve the declaration of the sacrificial contract by the relevant state assemblyman or their representative.

"For state constituencies represented by Muslim assemblymen, the contract will be performed by the assemblymen concerned or their representatives. Meanwhile, in constituencies represented by non-Muslim assemblymen, the District Religious Administration Officer (PTA) will conduct the contract process in accordance with established guidelines,” he said.

He added that to ensure that the implementation of the sacrificial rites is in line with Islamic requirements, the State Mufti Department will distribute specific implementation guidelines to all parties involved, particularly concerning the aspect of wakalah or contract for appointing representatives.

"In addition, the slaughtering and distribution process of the sacrificial meat will be carried out in accordance with the guidelines set by the Perak Islamic Religious Department and the Veterinary Services Department to ensure compliance with Islamic law and public safety and health aspects," he said.

Earlier, Dato' Seri Saarani represented the Perak State Government in reciting the acceptance pledge for the sacrificial cows in a session held at Hotel Casuarina@Meru here.

Also present were State Secretary Dato' Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim, State Financial Officer Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyuddin, State Executive Council members and heads of GLC departments.
