KUALA LUMPUR, 24 July 2025 – The Perak State Secretariat, in collaboration with the National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN), organised the Corporate Directors Leadership and Integrity (CDLI) Course Series 4/2025, held over four days from 21 to 24 July 2025 at the Dorsett Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The programme was officiated by Dr. Peter Brian M Wang Chee Keong, Deputy Head of Centre, Economic Studies Sub-Centre, Economics and Public Finance Centre, INTAN, who also officiated the closing ceremony alongside Mohd Azraie Harun, Human Resource Management Division Secretary, Perak State Secretariat.

A total of 26 participants, comprising officers from grades M10 to M13 under the administration of the Perak State Secretariat, state departments, and District and Land Offices, participated in the course.

The course aimed to enhance the officers' understanding of their roles as Board Members representing the government in ensuring that the state's interests in State Statutory Bodies and Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) are always safeguarded.

Additionally, it provided exposure to the officers regarding corporate governance, current developments in the corporate sector, and relevant government policies and regulations.

The collaboration that began in 2022 has become an important platform for strengthening the civil servants’ competency in order to be able to play a strategic role in government-linked companies. Special emphasis was placed on aspects of leadership with integrity, ethical management, and transparent and effective decision-making.

This course also aimed to produce officers who not only understand the government’s interests in GLCs, but are also able to contribute significantly to the achievement of corporate goals through the implementation of corporate governance based on integrity, accountability and high values of professionalism.

The organisation of this course reflects the Perak State Government’s commitment to ensuring that civil servants appointed as Chief Executive Officers or Board Members possess the skills, knowledge and values of integrity in fulfilling their responsibilities, in line with the goals of Perak Sejahtera 2030.
