IPOH, 27 January 2026 – The Senate Special Select Committee on Governance, Integrity and Anti-Corruption (JKPK TIA) paid a courtesy visit on State Assembly Speaker Dato’ Seri Mohammad Zahir Abdul Khalid at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan here.

The courtesy visit was part of JKPK TIA’s working visit to Perak from 27 to 30 January 2026.

The working visit aimed to examine and study issues related to governance, integrity and anti-corruption, as well as challenges in law enforcement faced by agencies, such as the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Perak.

The 13-member JKPK TIA delegation was led by Committee Chairman Senator Dato’ Setia Salehuddin Saidin and included committee members and officers from the Malaysian Parliament secretariat.

During the meeting, both parties exchanged views on the role of Select Committees in strengthening the functions of the legislative body, parliamentary best practices and efforts to enhance governance and integrity in government administration.

This courtesy visit reflects the Senate’s ongoing commitment in ensuring that the principles of good governance, integrity and anti-corruption efforts continue to be strengthened through dialogue, engagement and sharing of best practices between Federal and State legislative institutions.

Also present were Deputy State Assembly Speaker Jenny Choy Tsi Jen and State Assembly Secretary Mohd Ikram Ahmad.
