IPOH, 30 January 2026 – Civil servants are the government touchpoint for the people, shaping the people’s perception and confidence in the government.

State Secretary Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim said this during the 2026 Meeting of the State Secretary with Perak State Secretariat (PSUK) staff 2026 at Dewan Bankuet, Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan.

According to him, whether counter officers, support staff, technical officers or management, every role carried out influences the people’s experience of government service delivery.

“The people may not remember our names, but they will always remember the service, sincerity and professionalism shown. Therefore, every staff must view this responsibility not just as routine work, but as an opportunity to provide meaningful service and leave a lasting positive impact,” he said.

He added that this building is not merely a physical structure, but a trust space that requires every officer to play an important role in ensuring that administrative matters, meeting management, official document review and service to the people are carried out carefully, patiently and prudently.

He also stressed the importance of a strong culture of collaboration in a large organisation such as the PSUK to ensure that every decision and action taken is comprehensive, fair and effective in the interests of the people.

At the event, he expressed his appreciation and congratulations to all PSUK staff for their high commitment throughout 2025 and hoped that this momentum would continue in 2026 with more focus and strategy to ensure the state public service remains relevant, has integrity and trusted by the people.

Also present were State Legal Adviser Dato’ Azmir Shah Zainal Abidin, State Financial Officer Dato’ Mohd Zaki Mahyudin, Deputy State Secretary (Management) Dato’ Nor Sham Rahman, State Economic Planning Unit Senior Deputy Director Haslinda Alias, representing Deputy State Secretary (Development) Halizah Sipun, Perak Museum Board Director Mohamad Amir Mohd Dahalan and heads of departments.

At the event, Dato’ Ahmad Suaidi also launched the Organisational Strategic Plan 2026–2030 as the main reference document that will guide the direction of state public service administration and delivery for the next five years.
